What is Plantar Fasciitis?

 

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia under the foot. The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that runs from the heel under the foot towards the toes. At the point of insertion at the heel pain and inflammation can occur. (More info at Sportsinjuryclinic.net)

 

Symptoms are pain in the heel which might radiate under the foot. Pain is often worse first thing in the morning and gets better during the day only to return again later.

 

How does the Plantar fasciitis splint work?

 

The plantar fasciitis splint is worn overnight and holds the foot in dorsi flexion preventing the plantar fascia from tightening up. It gently stretches the fascia back to its natural length over time. If the plantar fascia is stretched then less stress will be placed on the insertion at the heel.  Comes with a heel sponge wedge that goes inbetween the splint and material and will act as a heel support.

 

How long should it take to work?

 

This all depends on the person involved and the severity of injury. Some people will be cured within 2 or 3 days. Others may take longer.

 

Can they help with achilles tendon injuries?

 

Yes - the splint is equally as effective at stretching the achilles tendon in the same way making it an ideal part of achilles tendinitis treatment. If you have suffered a total rupture of the achilles tendon be sure to get advice from your doctor before using the splint.

 

The plantar fasciitis splint is padded to provide comfort for the wearer. It is easily adjustable so you can start gently with reduced stretch on the foot and increase as your foot gets used to the splint.

Small = UK shoe size up to 4

 

Medium = size 5-9(mens) 5-8 (ladies)

 

Large = size 9+ (mens), 8+ (ladies)

I had been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis by my GP, he recommended you to me. As well as this night splint, I purchased the plantar cold wrap and the soft spot heel pads also. The combination of all 3 has really eased the pain. I would strongly recommend the night Splint for anyone with Plantar Fasciitis, it is a bit of a pain to wear at night, but well worth it. I purchased two of these and i am glad that i did no more sharp pains when getting out of bed and no severe pain throughout the day either. Do not let the look of the item put you off it is comfortable. I fully recommend this product. I also praise the customer service from Return 2 fitness.

i only used this for like 4 hrs a night for (2nights), i never left it on all night, too hot nowdays so room is boiling, but i have to say just after 2 days it does make a big difference and imagine if i kept it on all night for a month :), this does work i didnt think it would but it has, but you have to stick to it, my plantar fascitis was very bad and have to say its ok now just hurting a little wish i tried this sooner
