McDavid A-101 Ankle Guard, the choice among sports medicine clinics and physicians for its heavy duty support.
This McDavid ankle support is suitable for recent ankle sprains, Chronic or recurring ankle sprains, ankle instability as well as preventing ankle sprains.
McDavid supports are graded I, II or III and this brace is a grade III - the maximum support level.
The McDavid A-101 is a suitable ankle support for sports, especially ones involving fast changes of direction such as Tennis, Rugby, Netball etc. It may be suitable for football depending on the type of boot and shin guards worn.
How does it work?
The McDavid 101 has solid plastic inserts down the side to provide a high level of support and protection. Allows up and down movement (plantar and dorsi flexion) whilst preventing sideways (lateral) movement of the ankle. The plastic inserts can be removed if a lower level of support is required later. Replaces tape to support and prevent injuries. Padded internal lining circles moisture away and increases compression. Elastic heel and tongue. Three layers of nylon vinyl fabric, steel spring stays, notched front, sewn in arch.

Sizing: UK Shoe Size
XX-Small = 4.5 and under
X-Small = 4.5 to 7.5
Small = 7.5 to 8.5
Medium = 8.5 to 10.5
Large = 10.5 to 12.5
X-Large = 13.5 +

I can't rate this product highly enough. before I brought this I had ligament tears in my ankle, leading to repetitive sprains after the initial injury. This support has changed this completely touch wood I've had no more sprains whilst using this support and I can now play rugby again. It's takes some getting used to the restrictiveness of it but well worth the money.
