What are Bunions?

Bunions are a painful swelling and bone enlargement over the inside of the ball of the big toe. Sometime the big toe will appear as though it is bent in towards the other toes or even can lie across them.


What causes Bunions?

  • Bunions are caused by the contribution of biomechanical factors and genetic defects for example you will be more prone to bunions if you pronate excessively.

First signs and symptoms of bunions.

  • The ball of the big toe, and the surrounding area may be painful. Sometimes this is caused by the rubbing too much on the shoes.
  • Certain types of shoes may be too uncomfortable to wear.
